Mangrove initiatives

The first mangrove reserve in the Kingdom

The Mangrove Ecological Park is the first mangrove reserve in the Kingdom, protecting 64 square kilometers of marine habitats, including mangrove forests, salt marshes, and seagrass, which form important basins for fish and shrimp farming. This reserve contributes to raising awareness and interest in the ecosystem.

It includes a visitor center, wooden walkways, and several viewing and learning areas not to mention that the part will be allocated for research activities.

Mangrove Park has been established by Aramco. The company is working desperately to preserve and protect natural resources for future generations. So the reserve provides an important natural habitat for birds and marine organisms, and these forests are a sink for absorbing carbon dioxide.
